Kent County Council’s Commercial Services Division is one of the largest trading organisations of its kind in the UK. They supply a wide range of goods and services to other publicly-funded organisations with a turnover of over £600m per annum. They asked BDR to design and supply a new data centre for their offices.
This project has been awarded on the basis of the Public Services Network contract and our relevant experience in the provision of data centres to both national government departments and local government.
The BDR approach
Finding the right solution for the division was challenging as the site has been optimised for office staff. However, the BDR engineers were able to overcome the issues thanks to their extensive experience and knowledge.
Following the consultation, BDR supplied them with a new data centre. This new installation is a complete turnkey solution, including cold-aisle containment, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) and full network racking solutions.
All work carried out by our sister company, ICOM Holdings.
